Meet the Heroes: British Lieutenant Joseph Winston (Pat) Glover & Myrtle Para- Chick

Lt. Glover captured and trained Myrtle, a chicken, to parachute. Myrtle completed the required number of training jumps and was awarded a set of wings. On the day of the drop into Holland for Operation Market, Myrtle was stuffed inside his parachuting jacket, and the jacket was closed over. And when Pat jumped, Myrtle jumped too. Both of them landed safe and well and fought together for a few days until Myrtle was killed during a firefight.
